My little man turned one on April 20th!! The girls and I had so much fun shopping for his birthday presents!! They "helped" Collin open them and "helped" him play with them too!
I set his big old slice of birthday cake in front of him after we sang to him. He started playing with it and started to cry because his hands were cold... it was an ice-cream cake!! I should have thought of that!!!!
Annie and Jenna just love their little brother and get so excited whenever he does something new. They still squeal and love to have him chase them around the house. Jenna claps for him continually when he crawls up and down stairs or closes a drawer. This seems to be all he's interested in. He'd rather explore the girls' dresser drawers and empty them all out or master the front steps than play with his toys. It's hard to keep him contained nowadays because all he wants to do is explore everything around him. This little guy is persistent and determined to work on something until he gets it right. He'll open and close a drawer fifty times or go up and down the stairs for 20 minutes. It just looks like he's practicing.
Annie got a kick out of herself with the hats. This little munchkin is a big helper to me. She has been sweeping the floor and wiping the table and singing songs to Collin a lot latetly. My children are growing up so fast. I told Annie today that she was my sunshine. She said that Jenna can be my sunshine and she'll be the moonshine. This little sweetheart thought that Jenna would rather be my sunshine so she gave it up and settled with being my moonshine so her little sister would be happy. It's those little gestures of kindness that makes a long day's work soooo worth it!
